Hold On To Your Dreams

Hold On To Dreams

My childhood was not as easy and relaxed as other children, because of the piano. However, the memory is saturated with sunshine when I see little girls play the piano every time.

I still remember that moment I enjoyed the concert on the screen: a pianist who wore a soft and delicate chiffon dress was charming enough to overwhelm every audience. On top of that, I was fascinated in the rhythm and melody of the draft《For Alice》by the piano. The sound liked dazzling eyes that lit my way in my mind. At that time, I dreamed of being a pianist. It made me thrilled when I imagined I played my own piano elegantly and then intoxicated with the spirit of the music.

At the age of six, my parents bought me a beautiful piano as my birthday gift. Actually, I knew that they used the money they saved for a long time. The brand of the piano is “ZhuJiang”, which is famous in China. The new piano had an awesome paint---black. I would clean dust on the keys once a week and when I finished practicing I would make the piano cover carefully all the time. Besides, my mother also found an excellent teacher for me ----a retired music teacher, who was amiable but very strict: allowing no deviation from her standard. I need to practice up to three hours a day to achieve the standard even when I finished homework everyday. It was tired and boring to play one piano composition again and again. At first, I told myself I must keep going and

I could not make my parents disappointed. However, when I saw my classmates and my little buddies enjoyed the cartoon and went outside to play interesting games together in their spare time. I could not help imagining how happy I would have to be if I had not had the annoying piano. I insisted on the piano for two years until I was in the second grade. The classes and homework were no longer that easy, so I need to do many exercises on my study. At the meanwhile, my interest and feelings on the piano was not that strong any more. My attention was gradually transferred to the marbles and hopscotch, because I felt more delighted to play games with my friends compared with playing the piano alone at home. My father found out my impatience and encouraged me that:” If you give it up, you would lose the opportunity to become a pianist. I hope it is going well on your study and you stick with the piano as well. You can handle these.” These words alerted me deeply. My father and I reached an agreement that I practiced at least three times a week, and tried my best to hold on it. With his help, I underwent the hardest time during the study of piano. In spite of the great pressure and competition from school, I kept telling myself that:” I could hold on and ultimately get my dreams to come true.” I kept practicing every week for about four years. Then I had a level eight of piano in China. I was very proud of that and myself. Especially, I did appreciate that my parents gave me the chance to know and fall in love with piano.

The path to dreams may not be smooth and wide. However, hold on to the end, and then you will find there is no greater happiness than making you dreams come true by you own hardwork.
